Powerful People

Toroa spent term 1 looking at the impact that people have made to the world. We asked big questions suc as, 'If you are powerful do you have influence?', 'Can you have influence without having power?', 'How do people use their power?'

From this learning, and discussion, students were invited to choose not only who they wanted to research, but also what to create to show learning.
There were no limits to what the students could do as an exhibit.

Engaging the students in what they were interested in was a huge success, as the learned about who they were passionate about, and they created in a way they were interested in too. Engagement was high, and the outcomes were fantastic.

We had an Expo to show and share the hub's work. Here are some images of the work.

    Hi its Ben from Awahono School. I like your post about powerful people. I really like your part about Stephen King, and the picture of IT. Did you trace it or did you draw it free hand? Have you watched IT? Are you going to watch IT chapter Two?

    Hi, Liam here from Awahono School. Can you name every person in the pictures. I like how in all of the pictures there is a little description, and a picture. Did you trace the pictures or free hand them?

    Hi Toroa Hub, I'm Deakyn from Awahono School.
    Your post really caught my eye, because of the size of it and the colourful pictures. Your class have very good art skills. My favourite one is the Stephen King one. Who ever drew Penny wise has really amazing art skills with drawing. I can tell that everyone put all their effort into their projects because they are very well done. Have you watched the It movie?
